Remote Support

The Remote Support micro service is a scalable remote support solution which is safe for machine control applications. This service allows Support Desks to remotely support Clients. Clients are paired to Support Desks using a secure pairing procedure, which is initiated from the client HMI. OEMs and industry partners can use the Topcon Remote Support solution to build branded remote support into their own applications.

The Basics

Remote Support clients are separate pieces of software to the Sitelink3D SDK for the Remote Support client. The Remote Support client operates as a service on the client device such that the client HMI is accessible by remote control when the machine control software may not be running due to a fault situation. The Remote Support client software is written in C++ and is cross-platform. It currently compiles for WinCE, Win32, Linux and Android.

The Remote Support service includes a java-script web application example which accesses the service REST API directly. This allows OEMs and industry partners to easily integrate a Remote Support solution into their machine control products.
